Privacy Policy

Last updated: 26 July 2026

Eilonwy streams live on YouTube and Twitch. This page explains what information is handled when you take part in those live chats, why, and how long it is kept. It is written to be accurate rather than reassuring — where something is stored, it says so.

What this software is

The Eilonwy streaming assistant is a private application run by Eilonwy's family to operate the channel. It is not offered to the public, has no sign-up, and nobody outside the household runs it.

What is collected

When you send a message in an Eilonwy live chat, the assistant receives the information the platform makes available to the channel for that message:

  • your public display name
  • your public channel or user ID
  • the text of your message
  • public badges (moderator, member or subscriber, and similar)
  • the time the message was sent

Aggregate public channel statistics — such as the channel's total subscriber count — are also read, to show goal progress on stream. Those are channel-wide totals and identify no individual.

Not collected: email addresses, passwords, payment details, private messages, watch history, or anything that is not part of the public live chat you choose to send.

Why it is used

  • Live moderation — classifying messages so that harmful content can be acted on during the stream.
  • On-stream display — showing chat and goal progress in the stream overlay.
  • Replying to you — Eilonwy reads chat and responds on stream, including questions sent through channel rewards.
  • Chat-played games — counting votes when chat plays a game with her.

What is stored, and for how long

Rather than claim nothing is kept, here is what actually is:

  • Stream event logs — chat messages together with the display name, public channel ID, badges and timestamp, written as rolling daily files and kept for roughly one month before deletion. These make it possible to review a moderation decision or diagnose a fault.
  • Moderation records — per-viewer counters and any moderation incidents, so repeated behaviour can be handled consistently across streams. These decay over time.
  • Conversational memory — where Eilonwy remembers an earlier exchange with a regular viewer, so a conversation can carry across streams.

All of it lives on hardware the family owns and operates. None of it is kept on third-party analytics platforms.

What is never done

  • Your information is never sold.
  • It is never shared or redistributed to third parties, advertisers, or data brokers.
  • It is never used to build advertising profiles.
  • No attempt is made to identify you beyond the public identity you present in chat.

Your choices

  • If you would rather your messages were not processed, you can watch without chatting — the stream is fully watchable either way.
  • You can ask for the records associated with your channel ID to be deleted. They will be removed from the event logs and moderation records.

YouTube, Twitch, and Google

Eilonwy streams on YouTube and Twitch. Your use of those platforms is governed by their own policies, not this one:

The assistant uses the YouTube API Services, so by taking part in the YouTube chat you are also subject to the YouTube Terms of Service. You can review and revoke the data Google holds for third-party applications at https://myaccount.google.com/permissions.

Children

Eilonwy's streams are not directed at children under 13, and information is not knowingly collected from them.

Changes

If this policy changes, the date at the top of the page is updated.
